ABOUT US
LiliumX are a recent University of Oxford spinout that drives innovation in bispecific antibody R&D against cancer. We believe that current bispecific antibody R&D is outdated and focused only on limited known biology. We break free of this limitation by using our highly modular and high-throughput protein platform to discover novel target combinations to make first-in-class bispecific antibodies with entirely new mechanisms of action.
We are backed by mission-driven investors including Y Combinator, Hoxton Ventures, Magnet Ventures, and Acequia Capital. We are disrupting the field of bispecific antibodies and we’re looking for like-minded people to join our efforts to create an impact; we are looking for you.
THE ROLE
During your time with us, you will be involved in:
- Designing and selecting suitable protein mutations through in silico methods for increased stability and/or function
- Producing proteins following DNA cloning from bacterial or mammalian cells
- Designing and analysing in vivo animal studies
- Analysing protein characteristics through biochemical and biophysical methodologies
- Suggesting and implementing novel ideas related to LiliumX’s protein engineering procedure and
facility expansion - Supervising technical staff and junior researchers / placement students
- Working collaboratively with the protein production and cell biology team
- Interfacing with scaling of LiliumX’s protein engineering process
- Supporting grant applications, article publications and patent filing
WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for candidates with:
- A PhD (or related) degree in a cell biology-related discipline
- Experience in working with molecular biology techniques, including DNA cloning and protein purification
- Experience in computational protein engineering using
applications such as Rosetta modelling or similar - Motivation to challenge and learn new skills and knowledge
Not required but helpful attributes include:
- Knowledge in open-source software, bioinformatics tools
and programming languages such as Python - Experience in using an automated liquid handler, such as Opentrons
- Experience in modern cloning approaches and FPLC protein purification
- Prior experience in protein directed evolution
- Prior working experience in industry
